1969. The four-track ex-New York Central main line still appears to have all of its mains in place at this time.

rare combination of U-boats rolls under the Franklin Ave. bridge and accelerates
past the place of their birth on PC's ex-NYC Chicago-New York main
on July 8, 1973. PC 6524, a former PRR locomotive, leads PC 6507

PC 9641, an Alco S2 switcher built in 1950 as NYC 8566, idles on the house track
at the former PRR Erie roundhouse at OD Yard. It was rare to see Alco yard switchers
as far west as Erie on the PC system by the time this photo was taken, July 14, 1974.

leads a short dimension train of high-and-wide loads westbound on the ex-NYC mainline past National Forge's Erie plant
at Greengarden Blvd., Erie, PA. Today, the plant is known as Erie Forge & Steel, although it was closed in late 2001.
