Eastern Region - New Jersey Division

South Amboy, New Jersey

South Amboy is located on the south bank of the Raritan River across from Perth Amboy. At SA Tower was a junction of PC's Amboy Secondary track, which went south to Jamesburg, and the New York & Long Branch, a PC-Central RR of New Jersey jointly owned commuter line, which went east along the north Jersey coast towards Red Bank and points and east and south, and also went north across the Raritan River to Perth Amboy. At Perth Amboy, the CNJ's Perth Amboy & Elizabethport Branch began. Penn Central had trackage rights on the PA&E Branch as far as Woodbridge Junction, where the PC got onto their Perth Amboy & Woodbridge Branch, which went up to Rahway to join the PC's New York-Philadelphia Main Line at Union Tower in Rahway.
