NOTE:            This book tells the story of Bradford, Ohio from its

                 pulled up in 1985.  Since Bradford was a "one industry 
                 town," the book is the story of the Pennsylvania Railroad,
                 its predecessors and successors, and its effect on the 
                 town.  The book contains many illustrations including maps
                 and photographs.  A special feature are two large fold-
                 outs that depict the yard in three stages of its existence.

NOTE:            This book extensively covers the PC's Southern Region.
                 Only a few hundred copies of the original version of the
                 book were published. Indiana University Press is releasing
                 an updated version of the book in June 2000, with a new
                 introduction by the original author.
