The numbers of the PC units on one of the sections of the NCB, a train that 
ran on the SSW, are listed in the book, Southern Pacific's Blue Streak 
Merchandise by Fred Frailey(published by Kalmbach).  I don't have the book 
with me, but I believe that they were all GP-40s.  I'll look more into it if
