Try to get a copy of PC Power by Morning Sun Books.  It's out
of print, but you can find it used for about $80.  Some of the
photo reproduction in it is not so good, but the color section
is nice, and a lot nicer than looking at a scanned photo on
a computer screen.  I know $80 sounds high, but it contains
a lot of usefull iinformation for the PC fan.  Maybe you can
get lucky and find it for $30 or so from someone who doesn't
know or care.
