Hi guys,
It was Pennsylvania New York Central Transportation Company from Feb. 1,
1968 to May 1, 1968, when the name was changed to Penn Central Company. Then
it was Penn Central Transportation Company after the reorganization that
made the Railroad assets a subsidiary of the PC parent (holding) company.
Not sure about the dates on the change from PC Company to PCTC, but I know
it came sometime after the bankruptcy.

Having said all that, I think the name PCRRHS just came about as a
commonsense name. As you said PCTCHS would be too cumbersome...
