Actually, it was originally officially the Pennsylvania New York Central 
Transportation Company.  Later it was Penn Central Transportation Company 
and at some point I believe it was Penn Central Company.  I also believe it 
was called Penn Central Railroad sometime between June of 1970 and Conrail.  
The name was changed several times as I remember for legal reasons.
