I can't comment much on the authenticity of the piece, but as you said, the
seller is obviously lying. I have never heard of or seen anything regarding a
PC Deputy Chief.

I am so sick of the charlatans peddling obvious bogus crap on ebay and really
feel for the poor slobs who fork over the spandolas for those worthless items.
Who knows how much historical damage these things will do down the road.

I guess it is up to us to document and make note of what is real and what is
not when it comes to PC artifacts. Maybe one of "Clarence's" descendants
should comment on that in an upcoming POST.

The item is in violation of ebay's rules for misrepresentation alone, he is
knowingly misrepresenting an item to to circumvent their rules. I poked around
ebay to see how easy it is to report violations and they make it nearly
impossible. Right in line with my opinion that ebay is not and never has been
a respectable business. They have next to no interest in propriety and
actively discourage valid complaints.

Sorry for the editorial, it just jerks my drawbar the wrong way.
