The EJA Scandal was but the tip of the iceberg as to what killed Penn Central.
Next to that was a management team that could not or would not work together
as a team. These Three Stooges were Stuart Saunders, Alfred Perlman, who tried
to run the railroad like it should be run, and David Bevan, who looted the
treasury for his Penphil club tha t invested in EJA and hundreds of other
firms that had nothing to do with the railroad's primary business-
transportation of people and goods by rail.
