PC: PC 1100 series MU's

John W. and the list,
    For what it's worth I sent an email to the New York Central Museum in
reference to saving one or more of the 1100 series MU's.    Maybe some sort
of fund raising effort would do the trick but I would imagine
transportation costs would be prohibitive.   
    From a business standpoint,  if Metro-North ridership continues to rise
and these cars are in such good condition,  I wonder if it would be more
cost effective to convert this fleet to push-pull operation ( they already
have cabs) rather than waste tax dollars on more new cars.   It just seems
strange to me to retire these cars when they are in good physical
condition.  
    I wonder if Metro-North has even thought of this?
