PC: Re: Ex-PC Locomotives on the UP

UP just renumbered 2400 and 2500 series engines for rebuilt "GP38-3" units
using GP38 and GP40 carbodies. while I don't think any of these are of PC
ancestory, these other units could become more of them - GP38 hulks are
hard to come by and there's a need for low-hp road switchers.

These units went to MKT after the leases expired? I've seen shots, in
fact I think the newest issue of Railfan has a shot of an MKT train with a
black PC geep as the second unit -

: PC locomotives also found a home on UP. When in UP territory, keep your
: eyes peeled for the following GP-40s:
:
: UP 860 -- originally NYC 3076
: UP 861 -- originally NYC 3065
: UP 862 -- originally NYC 3082
: UP 863 -- originally NYC 3091
: UP 872 -- originally NYC 3074
: UP 873 -- originally NYC 3073
: UP 884 -- originally NYC 3101

: UP has been chronically short of power for the last few years, but is

: probably won't last that much longer.
