The underframe looked to be one piece with molded on detail, which would make
sense for the market for this type of car. The 5-10 price range is probably
close I didn't think to ask the LL people about the retail price. Bachman is
doing the same thing with their car line adding body mounted knuckle couplers
and metal wheels to cars that have been around for years. While these cars
probably won't appeal to advanced model rr's it allows the beginning model
railroader easier access to better equiptment and will probably in time help
to kill off the horn-hook coupler. Overall it's good news for anyone in Model
