According to "New York Central's Great Steel Fleet," page 139: "Out of all
the Pullman-Standard cars ordered in 1945, only the two twin-unit dining car
sets built for the 20th Century Limited/Commodore Vanderbilt survived into
Penn Central, until they, too, were scrapped in 1971, clad in a pea-green
color scheme."

Because the two tone cars were (for the most part) Pullman Standard, it's
fair to say that you would not see two tone cars on the corridor behind a
GG-1.

We did see many PRR, NYC, and NH cars on the corridor, but they were all
Budd stainless steel cars (except for the head end equipment). For a typical

Hey guys,

The following question came from one of my web site visitors. My gut 
reaction was, "of course they did!" But after looking at some books and 
other pictures online to back up my assumption, I couldn't find any. I 
also looked through the Morning Sun PC Color Guide book and didn't see 
any pictures of two-tone gray NYC cars, except for a single business car.

Does anyone have any pictures that could prove if two-tone gray NYC cars 
and tuscan PRR cars ran behind GG1s on the corridor during PC?

Can you please tell me if the PC GG1s that ran between New York and 
Washington DC ever pulled the PRR tuscan red passenger cars and the NYC 
dual gray passengers on this route and did they ever pull them both 
together mixed?
