Hi Jim & list,
Yes I do have one of those bells. This is the fourth one that has appeared on eBay in the past 5 or so years. I bought mine from a guy who claims it was given to his father   as payment for doing some taxidermy work for someone who worked for the RR. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT a locomotive or tugboat bell. As Dave (or someone) said, it's less than a foot tall. The hole in the top is used for mounting onto a wall bracket. Someone else commented that there are PRR souvenir bells that look like this. He could very well be correct- it may be made by the same company (I've seen those with th ewall bracket). Whether or not it's something that PC had made for retirees, or some other award- who knows? It could also be a complete fantasy item (meaning PC had nothing to do with it at all- just like a modern-day PC coffee mug for example). However, the patina does look like it's been around for awhile...also, I could see someone making PRR bells as fantasy items because of the popularity of !
 PRR, but PC? Does lend some credence to the the fact that it may be a "good" piece (good meaning authentic PCRR). As far as value... I paid $260 for mine, which was probably too much. This guy is WAY WAY out of line with his asking bid in my opinion. I remember one of the other ones that I saw on eBay several years ago sold for $61. That one was a steal. Don't remember what the other one sold for, but it was less than I paid, I know that.
