Poor photo processing with a aging, fading photo and ,  is this a ex PRR GP weathered  out a bit greenish????


A true Green (  not DGLE)  Geep  - I doubt it 

I was at  Buckeye many times - I never saw one.

Hi everyone,

Here's one that has me at a loss, and I'm hoping someone might be able to 
shed some light on this:

A visitor to my PC web site mailed me a few days ago and said he had a 
picture of himself, brother, and grandparents on a green PC locomotive at 
Buckeye Yard in Columbus, Ohio, taken when he was 5-6 years old. He asked 
me if I had any more pictures of green PC locomotives.

I wrote back and basically gave him the "silly rabbit, PC engines are 
black; sure it wasn't a caboose?" answer. Here was his reply:

> Yes, I am sure it is a locomotive.  I found the picture, and the PC road
> number is 7218.  I do not know if it is a GP or SD.  I think it may be a GP.

Well, needless to say, this one has me stumped. Except for DSI #15, I'm not 
aware of any PC units, much less GP9s, that were painted green. Then again, 
I should know better to say "never" when it comes to PC.

Can any of you with larger PC slide collections check and see if there is 
any photographic proof of a green PC 7218 out there? I'm truly baffled on 
this one, as I figured if PC had any green engines, *everyone* would know 
about them.
