PC: Re: PC sightings on vacation

Concerning the PC green that kept on showing up on the Lehigh Valley, it appears
that except for the cabooses, all of the cars that got painted green were done
off the property. Here is what I have found so far on the 'PC' green LV freight
cars.

LV 7140 - 7189 (RBL-type Insulated 50ft. boxcar): built by Despatch Shops 2/69
(in other words PC), exact same car as PC class X65 except insulated.
LV 8300 - 8399 (XL-type 50 ft. boxcar): built by Despatch Shops 12/68 - 1/69
(again PC), exact same car as PC class X65
LV 34660 - 34679 (65 ft. gondola): re-manufactured by U.S. Railway Mfg. Co.
1970's
LV 37000 - 37109 (52 ft. gondola): re-manufactured by U.S. Railway Mfg. Co.
2/70 - 4/70
LV 40000 - 40099 (52 ft. gondola for ingot service): built by Bethlehem Steel
3/70
LV 65000 - 65124 (XM-type 40 ft. boxcar): re-manufactured by U.S. Railway Mfg.
Co. 9/69 - 2/73
LV 66000 - 66524 (XM-type 40 ft. boxcar): re-manufactured by U.S. Railway Mfg.
Co. 10/69 - at least 10/72

I would guess that the PC probably had some financial influence with the above
in that they were all done in the PC era.

The X58 class cars that the LV had [7100 - 7139 (X58) & 8200 - 8259 (X58B)] were
all painted white and black. I don't think any of them received green.

Jerry not sure but the LV caboose could of been one that LV painted in PC
green. They did have some of the cabooses, gons and their X-58's painted in
PC green but with LV letting and reporting marks. -----------------------Ken
