PC: Robert Blanchette Dead at Age 68

CHANGING PEOPLE AND PLACES:

(MON) Robert Blanchette died at Age 68 from cancer.  A key figure in the
rail  industry for 35 years, Mr. Blanchette was notably counsel to the
Trustees of  the Penn Central Railroad, eventually becoming Chairman of
the Board of  Trustees, a position he held until its reorganization into
Conrail in 1976.  Mr. Blanchette was later Chief Administrator of the
Federal Railroad  Administration, a position he held from 1981 to 1983.
