Dear Steve and List Members:
If you send that 8-door hycube to a Chrysler Plant, they'll probably refuse
it! That's because 8-door cars were originally designed for GM service.
Here's the correct info for the original designs:
4-door cars:
Ford service
Chrysler service
GM service (late 1960's on)
8-door cars:
GM service
Note that in the 1980's and 1990's the original assignments for these cars
got pretty jumbled up. I've seen 8-door cars at Ford plants, for instance.
However, this is the exception, and certainly not the rule. Also, 8-door
cars are definitely on the way out.

Athearn also makes a 4-door 86 footer in case you'd rather service a Ford
or GM plant.
