2 of the 3 carmakers used the same type of car. I may be wrong, but I'm
sure GM and Ford used the 4-door.
In any event, 8-door cars are very much a minority these days. The
railroads managed to convince all the automakers to use one type of car, the
4-door. Less doors = less breakable railcar parts + less money for repairs.
Take those 8-door photos while they last.
