No one funded the PC operation and then the government after decades of
building and owning highways and airports tried the railroad business called
CR and screwed it up. CR never had a hard time like PC, EL and others
because tax payers were paying for CR like Amtrak opertion . This is what
should have been done in the first place before a thing called CR existed.
CR better known as Con Job, Crook Rail and Cut Rail, and they certainly did
all this. 44G miles of track down to 11G miles and along with this long time
employees were thrown in the street.
