	I don't believe that is exactly correct. Conrail made the move,
	first to UP and then an attempt to get some of the SP properties
	out of the UP/SP merger and then to merge with CSX. That move 
	was designed to keep NS off of their back while still maintaining
	a viable railroad. During all of this, the railroad was lost because
	CR underestimated Snow's ability or willingness to withstand NS
	pressure.
