PC: PC signal question

I don't mind digressing occasionally from points of interest, but 
sometimes I get annoyed when it gets a little ridiculous...But, I don't 
get anal about it...

I have a question about the PC's signals.  Did they use 3-position or 
searchlight types on branch lines? I ask this because I'm planning a 
small switching layout, and wanted to add (maybe) some operating 
signals.
