Hey gang, here's my ignorant question for today-  when, & why, did PC/Amtrak
switch from using the original cab car locos to separate locomotives for
Metroliner service?   If I recall correctly, in 1969 the Metroliner orginally
consisted of  6-car trains (in MU'd sets?). 

I was reminded of this recently, passing through Wilmington, where I've seen
the hulks of one or more of the oldies sitting there.
