Have you ever read the book, "The Fallen Colossus," by Robert Sobel? I
reccomend it to any 'true' PC fan. Mr. Sobel provides an objective
viewpoint (he's a business analyst, not a railfan) on the whole matter.
Any tried and true NYC fan will blame PRR management. Any tried and true
PRR fan will blame NYC management. And any tried and true NH fan hates
the letters PC (to NH employees the takeover was more of a rape). In
truth, there hundreds of reasons why the PC failes, and Mr. Sobel covers
most of them. The book also provides a good background on the PRR, and
NYC. A truly in depth, and fascinating book. I reccomend anyone on this
list read it!
Sincerally yours,
