The bridge I assume you are referring to is the Hell Gate bridge.

It's the *large* steel arch with long approaches from the Bronx and
Queens... right?


This bridge was built by the The New York Connecting Railroad. It was
completed in 1917.  It was a joint venture between the NH & PRR railroads.
