Re: PC: Super Elevation

Hello Bob

Super-Elevated track on a "Class 1" road like the Penn Central is almost a
must!!!
This is how I did it on my 12' x 16' layout (NYC/PRR/PC circa 1968). After
figuring out and penciling in curve tangents, laying down cork roadbed, and
loosly nailing the track in place, I used cut out cardboard stock (about 1"x
2") as shims, gradually increasing the elevation as I went into the turn, and
decressing as I went out. Time, trial, and error rewarded me with a very
satisfying "banked" look, not to mention great high-speed passenger train
opperation.

Good luck !!!

Paul
