PC: PCRRHS Convention Oct. 1, 2, 3 in Springfield, Mass.

The 2009 Penn Central Railroad Historical Society convention is
scheduled for Oct. 1, 2, 3 in Springfield, Mass.  The convention hotel
is the Springfield Marriott, 2 Boland Way, Springfield, Phone:
1-413-781-7111. We've reserved a block of rooms at the rate of $119 a
night. The convention fee is $120.

SPECIAL NOTE: We must submit the names of people who want to attend
the Friday morning tour at Smith & Wesson by Sept. 1. If you intend to
attend, notify Dave Owens at daowens@xxxxxxxxx or 860-233-0303.

The heart of every Penn Central Railroad Historical Society convention
is the evening programs that feature a look back at the PC. We also
have several activities planned for the daylight hours.

Here's an overview of the convention:
Thursday afternoon -- Meet and greet, swap meet, model display.
Dinner on your own.
Evening programs.

Friday morning -- Tour of Smith and Wesson in the morning
(transportation via bus)
Lunch at S&W
Friday afternoon -- business meeting, free time
Dinner on your  own
Evening programs

Saturday morning -- Palmer, Mass., Central New
England yard, group photo on former PC loco. NECR will do its best  to
get  one of three former PC locos  on its  roster to Palmer for  us.
Lunch on your own at Steaming Tender  in the Palmer station.
Saturday afternoon -- Trolley Museum, East Windsor, Conn.
Saturday evening -- banquet and evening programs.
