I know you guys heard that Kodak has stopped production of every
railfan's favorite film, "Kodachrome 64". What you probably didn't
know
that if you still have Kodachrome slide film, you must use it now
because at the end of the year, that last Kodachrome processor (in
Kansas City) will no longer process slide film.
End of next year actually is what Kodak said. Nonetheless, this is
an ugly loss to us film shooting luddites...
I guess Fugi would still make slide film or you'll have to go
digital. I know a lot of you guys still shoot slides.
Kodak will at least for a while still produce Ektachrome which uses a
different development process. But I will not be surprised to see
Kodak get out of film completely at some point in the next 5 years.
