PC: Codes on Auto Parts cars.

      I'm sure many of you guys have noticed code numbers and letters on
a lot of the auto parts cars of the Penn Central boxcar fleet. They were
also on foreign road boxcars that were assigned to the Penn Central. 
     I read that prior to the merger, the New York Central had 47% of
the new car market (Assembly plants and auto parts). So after the merger
it had to be well over 50% or even higher. 
     Was there ever a published list of the assignment codes (or route
codes) for PC auto parts boxcars? There is some talk of it in the PRR.
NYC and PC Color Freight Car Guides. Any info is appreciated.
