Pat,
I was wondering that very thing this afternoon. I just checked the website and
the renewal form is still for 2006 and not 2007.
I strongly recommend that the society get a PayPal account so that renewals
can be done online. The fees are very reasonable, it is very easy to set
up and manage and it may help to increase membership and member retention. I
am PayPal merchant with my business and also use it for the ELHTS (I'm the
membership chairman) and Railfan.net donations. I have never had a problem
with them and I have saved a lot of money using them as my credit card
merchant processor.
Has the society considered offering life memberships? The ELDCPS also has
$20.00 per year dues and offers a life membership for $180.00. I would be
interested in a life membership if it was priced in the $200.00 range. I am a
member of 10 or so societies and keeping track of all the renewals is enough
of a nuisance that I have been taking out life memberships where I can.
I hope everyone has a very Happy New Year,
Henry
