PC: PC Reseach Car 28300

Hey Y'all...

              Anyone know the heritage of the Reseach Car 28300? Is it
ex PRR or NYC? And what was it used for. 
               This would make a nice modelling project. I've seen
movies of this car on the rear of freight trains. There was a original
slide of the car in fresh paint on ebay and I was lucky to win it. Any
info is appreciated.
