None of the E7 units with small number boards that Penn Central had ever
received a full PC paint job. All of PC's small number board E7's were ex
NYC. Dispositions as follows:
PC 4000 retired 4/30/68 in full NYC paint
PC 4001 retired 6/12/69 in full NYC paint
PC 4002 retired 6/12/69 in full NYC paint
PC 4003 retired 6/27/73 in full PC paint but was rebuilt by NYC in the
early 1960's with an E8 look-alike car body
PC 4004 retired 4/30/68 in full NYC paint
PC 4005 retired 2/24/71 in NYC paint, all NYC markings painted out and
small PC nose logos applied
PC 4006 retired 8/15/73 in NYC paint, all NYC markings painted out and
small PC nose logos applied
PC 4007 retired 6/12/69 in full NYC paint

Does anyone have a good photo of an early (small numberboards) E-7 in
full PC paint? A unit with both the logo and spelled-out name would be
best, if there was such a thing. A B/W photocopy would work for my
purposes, I just need to know he locations of the lettering and unit
numbers.
Did Penn Central cab type units have their numbers on the back as well
as the sides?
