PC: PRR Cabin cars - Window Bars

PRR N5 cabin car drawings show bars across the windows in the bunk end of the car.  I assume this predated the era of safety glass and was for the protection of a rider on the top bunk, should movement throw him against the glass.  In later revisions of the drawings these bars were no longer shown.

I believe any thing of value that was transported in a mail train would have been carried in a REA express car (with messenger).
