I'll tell 'ya. For 29 bux, you can't go wrong. I've been waiting for this
model for 25 yrs. Tried kit-bashing one from a Tyco caboose. Didn't look
right. Grant you the model does have it's faults. But a little doctoring up
with decals ( lube-plates, etc...) looks mighty fine. Or get a undec one and
start out fresh. If your still un-happy, drop the bux for a brass one. You
pay the bux and get a nice looking N-8. Also that car MAYBE made overseas.
Bowser is made here in the "States". Myself I still like modelling. I think
buying cars and loco's right out of the box to the layout, you tend to not
enjoy the rolling stock as much as if you doctored it up or started with a
undec kit. Don't get me wrong, those RTR cars a nice. I have a few myself.
To me "Model Railroading" means Model Railroading.
