PC: Re: Book Penn Central RR Museum and Library

Kevin,
I don't know that there was an actual PRR Museum as such, with items on display. I get the impression that it was more of just a warehouse, with all the PRR stuff stored in company archives, but not for public display (kind of like the PRRTHS archives in Lewistown today). This is not fact, just an impression that I have gotten over the years...

I bought a book with, "RAILROAD RELICS, ARTIFACTS, RARE and HISTORIC DOCUMENTS comprising THE ENTIRE MEMORABILIA of the PENNSYLINIA RAILROAD MUSEUM will be sold at ABSOLUTELY UNRESTRICTED PUBLIC SALE by order
of THE TRUSTEES OF THE PENN CENTRAL RAILROAD on March 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 1972 commencing at 10 A.M. each day
the sale will be conducted in THE SOUTH CONCOURSE AT 30TH ST STATION PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVAINIA under the management of Samuel T. Freeman" on the cover. The book is 115 pages plus 1 page supplement. The sale consisted of 1,887 lots. The lots included : artifacts, books, magazines and newspapers of rare vintage, medals, maps, models, documents and correspondence, paintings and prints, photos and glass slides, and reports.

My question is "PENNSYLINIA RAILROAD MUSEUM"? Where was this? If I remember correctly the one in Strasburg wasn't started til 1974.
