I am all for a full indexed and searchable archive for the list.

There's just no substitute if one is researching obscurities.

I have set this up for 5 different majordomo lists and while I killed myself
to build the initial system, I can add a new railfan.net list to it in
relatively short order. It could work for the PC list with some system
specific code alterations.

Do people use it? Not nearly as many as I had hoped. I probably use it more
than anyone! It has been invaluable in some research projects.

FAQs are handy, but IMHO they are more useful for the newcomers than the "old
hires" when it comes to research.
