Wouldn't you mean Descendant? The predecessors (meaning "coming before" or
ancestors) to the (ill-fated and maligned) Penn Central would be the
Pennsylvania RR, N'Yawk Central, and (I do hate to say it so because of my
fellow fans with a soft spot for it, and it truly does pain me so to put it
this way) whiny little b---- New Haven. Conjob was a descendant or corporate
successor of the Penn Central.
