RE: PC: Wreck of the Penn Central book

The book is about the business aspects of the railroad and the merger leading up to the bankruptcy. I read it years ago, but if I remember correctly, it's theme is that the merger was badly planned and executed by the senior executives. It's meant for the general public, not strictly railfans, but you'll probably find it interesting.

 

By the way, there was a second book on the merger and bankruptcy called "No Way to Run a Railroad" where David Bevin, the Chief Financial Officer, gave his side of the story.
