ANNOUNCING-THE NON-PROFESSIONAL PUBLISHING OF AN
(ALL-TIME PENN CENTRAL FREIGHT CAR ROSTER

This is the Penn Central, your favorite railroad? Have you ever wondered
how many revenue freight cars were in service during the PC's operation
years? Are you a modeler? Do you model the Penn Central? Did you ever
wonder if that custom-painted freight car you just purchased for an
ungodly price is actually correct? Well, this Freight Car Roster
Compendium can go a long way towards helping you out.

In February 1968 the Penn Central inherited a great many freight cars
from the New York Central, The Pennsy, and, in 1969, from the New Haven
Railroad. During its 8 years in existence over 80,000 revenue type
freight cars in more than 100 different classes wore Penn Central
reporting marks.

The purpose of this compendium is to set down, in one body of reference,
all currently available information concerning Penn Central revenue
freight cars from paint schemes to car histories to new construction
dates to service uses. It's a safe bet to assume that there is nothing
this detailed currently available anywhere on Penn Central Freight Cars.
This is an amateur publication and will never be available as a
professional publication, commercially available to the general public.
It will be produced in nine volumes and be available for sale through
the mail only. It is copyrighted.
