PC: Penn Central Highlight

Wanted to reminisce a little...

I remember once in the PC era--in the week between Christmas and New
Year's Day--maybe December of 1969(?)--I was off from school and was
playing in a park next to the New York-Philadelphia mainline.  FOUR
trains went by at once.  It was like something staged by a model
railroader--two freights and two passengers trains--one in each
direction.  Each freight had two black GG-1's;  each passenger had one.  

Not even Union Pacific could match that.  And people wonder why I'm fond
of the PC years.  If you ignore the business side of the picture, they
had a lot to offer!
