PC: PC Failure

Probably the most authoritative subject written on the PC Mess is "No Way To
Run A Railrod" by Stephen Salsbury..(McGraw-Hill ISBN 0-07-054483-2). It
debunks alot of what the Wright Patman committee said. It is a little dry and
not a seductive as "Wreck of the Penn Central) But certainly much more
factual. Both RR's were in bad shape since before WW2 financially, and the
outside investments kept it(PRR) running for at least 2 decades. Interesting
reading if one has the time. Mark
