PC: Re: PC 80041

According to the latest issue of Deisel Era, which has a shot, it supplied
electric power for work trains, sort of like how the LIRR converted cab
units to supply head end power I would think, although it could have
powered all sorts of work equipment as well -

Also in there is a C&O EMD F-b unit used to transport EMD prime movers,
a-la a similar PC car. Who came up with this one first, anyone know?

The whole article was on locomotives that weren't/aren't locomotives,
converted to slugs or various other purposes, even some ICRR heavy flat
cars used at Paducah that had E-unit trucks under them (!)...

Does anyone know the history behind "Power Unit" 80041 (a converted SW-1),
or what the PC used it for?
