True,  they were also used on Amtrak shoreline trains before the F-40's.
When you look back at early Amtrak, it's interesting to note that while all
the power that was purchased from other roads was repainted, much of the
former PC fleet retained PC paint til the end.   Units mentioned above were
still PC owned, however ex-PC units in the Amtrak 200 series on Empire
Service trains retained their black.
