How do the Proto 1000 units run? How comperable are they to Athearn?

It was 1992 or so, I got 4 to do in Ann Arbor, and am finally getting around
to it! A couple more detail parts and presto. When CR took over operating
the AA in '76, some of the AA units were on CR trains, and CR units on AA to
make up the mileage. PC also used to go on the AA with coal trains.
Kato is re-releasing the GP-35 soon. I beleive it's phase II or III this
time.
