PC: Why PC?/was Demographics

I was but 9 years old at the formation of PC. I do remember very vividly the
black E-units that came to Louisville with the Southwind. My Grandmother
would ride to Cincinnati on her perpetual L&N pass,so while my dad was
putting her on the train I would look around at whatever else was there. I
only saw them a couple of times but they left a lasting impression.
Also,later I learned that the PC came into Jeffersonville,IN(right across
the Ohio river) with freight trains. By this time I was hooked and the black
units were a stark contrast to the all gray parade that I usually viewed. My
grandmother lived but 2 short blocks from the L&N South Louisville Shops,so
since I was born I have been exposed to some form or fashion of train.
