  The SD-38 were almost always used in yard/hump service.  Occasionally they
would see road service to help blow out carbon deposits.(Same scenario with
the U23-C)
  If memory seves me right PC was the largest buyer of the SD-38.

xPC xConrail SD-38 #6928 is now assigned to the local power pool at
Conway.  Have these SD38 hump engines ever worked the road or were they
bought especially for hump service?  I believe that this model wasn't a
big seller for EMD.
