Grand Central Station is indeed a post office. Actually, on the 
subway stop, I'm not sure of it's official name, although I can't say 
that I've ever seen an official reference to it. 

The edifice built by the NY Central is Grand Central Terminal. 
Terminal refers to the fact that the tracks end there. Penn Station 
is not a terminal, because tracks run out both sides of it.
