Re: PC: DANGER

Seth,
I see this in front of the RR museum in Elkhart, IN all the time.
There's no talking to these people and they will continue doing it
until they get hurt, killed or arrested. I relate them to having the
same mentality as someone who will drive around a crossing gate,
something I also see all the time as well. They have no compunction
when it comes to trespassing either. We've had to resort to locking
our gate as a result, something that we have avoided until now an
unfortunate event to say the least. It has been, and will always be
the few who will ruin things for the many.

What killed the railfaning in my town, Porter/Chesterton IN a few
years back a Division Superintendent saw " a railfan standing on
track 2 while videotaping a freight on track 1, while a Van train was
coming up behind the railfan." The railfan did not even know that
the van was there let alone it was traveling at 60 MPH. I do not see
why people have to be right next to the tracks and taking pictures or
video taping. That is why there are such items as telephoto lenses
and zoom in camcorders.
