Really at $90 they aren't bad by the time you figure what it will cost to
put something together that looks decent... what can you do, put an Atlas
C-425 cab on an AHM/LL/MP shell? now you're talking anywhere from $15-$30
into it and no drive, no frame and no handrails. Comparatively to build a
Rail Power SD90MAC up as nice as some of the recent modeling articles you'd
be talking $90 or so, or more with an Overland chassis.
If you have to you could try how I got my RS-11 - body shell one year,
frame later (after I milled down an Athearn GP-9 frame to accept the body,
of course), and finally a $30 C425 lost it's drive to it. Course it was
one more year before I got the right driveshafts for it, but still I have a
powered undec RS11 -
