PC: PC Font Style

Hi Fellas,
  I've been working on producing PC decals.  I've been working with various
programs to created the best image possible.
  I'm wondering what style Font PC used on most of their lettering.  There
are several styles when you really start looking at pictures.  Seems to me,
early on ex PRR shops were using a different style font in their early
repaints.  The most common font looks like "Microgramma Extended bold
italic".  Can anyone confirm this?
  I first thought that the font style was a version of "Futura", but it is
not.
